Palitra

Palitra is one of several “satellite cities” included in Uphor’s original urban design, smaller, self-contained offshoots meant to support the central district without depending on it. Not all of them held up or were fully restored, but there are still quite a few out there. Palitra, is a n excellent example: well-preserved, easily accessible, and still visibly tied to its original layout.

Built on a more compact circular grid, Palitra mirrors Old Uphor in form but not in feel. While Old Uphor evolved into a mix of apartment blocks and civic spaces, Palitra leaned suburban, primarily single-family homes, small local businesses, and neatly kept parks. It’s quiet, orderly, and self-contained.

The demographic is more mixed than Old Uphor, but still cultivated. Families, mid-career professionals, and people who couldn’t quite land a flat in Old Uphor often end up here. There’s a small arts scene and some specialty shops, but the cultural life tends to feel... inoffensive. Not dull, just carefully managed.

The neighborhood committees are notably active. There are guidelines for paint colors, expectations for lawn care, and a shared sense that things should be pleasant and predictable. Some people love that. Others find it a little too curated.

Palitra is well connected to the city by a direct NEX line, making it well connected to more urban areas, without being part of them.
